The implementation of new systems requires extensive planning and continual oversight. For this reason, the system implementation process is a collaborative effort between Haemonetics and the customer. It is the combined effort of both parties that ensures a successful implementation. Haemonetics' implementation consulting services include system integration, software configurations, hardware selection and installation, legacy database conversion, and user training.
Haemonetics has a department fully dedicated to the implementation of its proprietary products. The Technical Marketing team is responsible for assisting customers with all tasks related to implementing the new computer system, including: hardware selection and installation, configuration consulting, application training and project management and consulting services.
A dedicated Project Manager/Technical Marketing Representative is assigned to each customer upon execution of the product agreement. This person is responsible for the oversight of all project aspects. At the beginning of the implementation, the Project Manager provides the customer with a template project timeline. The Project Manager then customizes the timeline to include details specific to each customer implementation.
Haemonetics provides "Train the Trainer" training of their systems. This method of training involves the training of customer staff who will then train all end users on system functionality as it pertains to their roles and responsibilities. This training includes Training Manuals for each participant.
Upon receipt and installation of the new system, Customers should perform a basic test of all main functional areas within the confines of their specific environment that includes the facility trained personnel, specific hardware, and specific procedures. Validation experts contend that the extent to which user tests application software should be based on the degree of risk associated with each function. To assist our customers in validating the software application, Haemonetics has developed a document referred to as the Validation Tool. The Validation Tool includes a list of the risk-related functional areas designed within the software and a series of suggested steps to test each of these defined areas. In addition, a series of workflow scenarios are provided to test the integration of the major functional areas found in the system.
These suggested test steps are not intended to be all-inclusive. Users are responsible for validating the software in accordance with their own Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in order to ensure that the software is operating as intended within their own environment.
Haemonetics has designed a migration process to make transferring of data efficient and successful for our donor systems. The migration process can be broken into the following phases:
The diagram below depicts the phases of the Migration Pass:
